Once seen as a commendable figure in the Senate, Marco Rubio's journey has taken a surprising turn. After his awkward water moment during the 2013 State of the Union response, he was regarded as a charming, bipartisan politician. Fast forward to the present, while he was initially endorsed for the role of Secretary of State under Trump, many have grown disillusioned with him as he became one of Trump’s most ardent supporters, losing the admiration he once had from both sides of the aisle.
In 2015, Rubio was seen as one of the ‘nice guys’ of the Senate, yet he later transformed into one of Trump's most loyal enforcers.
His confirmation to lead the State Department was unanimous, a miracle in today’s broken Washington, but he has since lost respect from former admirers.
