A spokesperson said he is grateful for the outstanding care he received and is feeling better. He will be working from home this week on the advice of his doctors. Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers said he expected McConnell to be back at it soon and noted McConnell had been texting and calling from a hospital bed. McConnell discussed federal funding for Kentucky in a package signed by President Donald Trump. He will turn 84 on Feb. 20 and announced last year he will not seek reelection in 2026.
