Fans race to learn Spanish before Bad Bunny's Super Bowl half-time show
"If you didn't understand what I just said, you have four months to learn!"
"Before I say thanks to God, I'm going to say ICE out, he said in English after winning his first Grammy for musica urbana album. We're not savage, we're not animals, we're not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans."
"I am delusional enough to be like this would be easy. I could pick it up pretty quickly,' Miller said."
Bad Bunny will perform the Super Bowl halftime show entirely in Spanish, inspiring fans to rapidly learn the language. He opened Saturday Night Live in Spanish and told viewers they had four months to learn his lyrics. Conservatives criticized his opposition to President Trump's anti-immigrant policies, and he canceled the U.S. leg of his tour last year fearing ICE would target his fans. Social media filled with posts explaining his lyrics and Puerto Rican slang and with non-Spanish speakers documenting their learning. His album Debi Tirar Mas Fotos won the Grammy for album of the year, and he used the awards stage to denounce ICE. Some fans described learning lyrics as a form of protest.
