Lutnick previously stated in 2005 that he and his wife vowed not to see Epstein again after an awkward visit and called him "gross." Department of Justice files indicate contact that continued years after that claim. Lutnick said he could not recall the reason for the 2012 visit but denied a personal relationship with Epstein. The 2012 visit occurred after Epstein's guilty plea for soliciting a minor. Bipartisan calls for Lutnick's resignation have followed these revelations.
