Since Donald Trump's presidency began, many Americans have expressed feelings of instability and anxiety regarding their day-to-day lives. With over 20,000 responses gathered, individuals from various sectors reported job insecurity, changes in workplace regulations, and the rising costs of living. Federal scientists discussed fears of job loss due to government changes, while others highlighted the stress and hostility growing in everyday interactions. The feelings of uncertainty are exacerbated by longer wait times for mental health services as more people seek help.
I am a federal scientist for NOAA and - although we didn't have high hopes to not getting fired - we just found out we're getting dismantled completely, sooooo. Other jobs in science fields are getting scarcer by the minute, as well. It sucks!
More anxiety. People seem ruder and more stressed. Everything is more expensive; it's awful, exhausting, and terrifying. Also, people who need help and are trying to get in with a psychiatrist are on long waiting lists.
