Woman, 79, fell while hiking. A stranger carried her for hours on his back.
Briefly

“It wasn’t very encouraging,” Bannister said about the wait for help. “I asked this man to please ask anybody if they had pain killers, because at that point, the pain was pretty substantial.”
Troy May, a U.S. Air Force Airman, said, “I knew I was capable of carrying her down. I just knew I needed to carry her down if I could.”
Bannister, reflecting on the hike, stated, “It’s steep so it’s considered a hard hike, but because I’ve done it so many times, I wasn’t nervous about it.”
After her fall, Bannister cried out for help, and shortly after, a stranger approached to call 911, indicating the community's readiness to assist in emergencies.
