"Dennis Lamonia's family shared a terrifying video, seconds after shots were fired inside Valley Fair Mall on Black Friday. His family took cover with other shoppers inside a store. "We tried to hide in one corner. Babies crying, people running, chaos. People tripping, falling. You could hear pops in the background, three pops," Lamonia said."
"On Saturday, Valley Fair reopened at noon with a large police presence inside. Many shoppers and employees came to claim items left behind, even cars that were stuck inside the garage, part of the police investigation. "I had employees who left cars here. A lot of people had to get rides here today just to pick up cars," said Bredy Jones, Aloe employee."
Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose reopened at noon with a heavy police presence after a Black Friday shooting that wounded three people. Hundreds of shoppers ran for cover when gunfire erupted inside the mall, and police continue to search for a suspect. Video captured chaotic scenes of people hiding, babies crying, and repeated pops of gunfire. Investigators say a possible argument near Macy's escalated into shooting; two female victims were likely struck by stray bullets. The victims—a man, a woman, and a 16-year-old girl—were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and hospitalized.
