"You can tell that (the designers) didn't have appearance in mind," said postal worker Avis Stonum. Despite their odd design, these vehicles are highly functional and safe.
The first handful of Next Generation Delivery Vehicles rolled into Athens, Georgia, in August, receiving rave reviews from postal carriers accustomed to older, unreliable models.
The new trucks are built with comfort, safety, and utility in mind, allowing even tall postal carriers to stand up without bonking their heads.
Once fully deployed, the 60,000 Next Generation Delivery Vehicles will be a key part of the Postal Service's $40 billion transformation strategy.
