US aircraft carriers are moving around. More firepower is going to the Middle East.
Briefly

The Pentagon has announced the extension of a US aircraft carrier's deployment in the Middle East while sending a second carrier to the region due to rising tensions with Iran. The USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group will continue operations aimed at deterring aggression, while the USS Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is set to arrive to bolster regional stability. This decision underscores the US commitment to a strong military presence in response to increased threats, particularly from Iran-aligned forces such as the Houthis in Yemen.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group to stay in the Middle East region "in support of regional deterrence and force protection efforts."
Parnell said that the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group will arrive in the Centcom area of responsibility "to continue promoting regional stability, deter aggression, and protect the free flow of commerce in the region."
