Former President Donald Trump has been elected president again, according to a race call by the Associated Press, winning critical states of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Trump is also the first convicted felon to win the White House, returning after his prior controversial term and making claims of a popular vote win that remain unverified.
Republicans have retaken the Senate with potential numbers around 55 to 56 seats, while the House is still in limbo with many races too close to call.
As of early Wednesday, Trump had 277 electoral votes total; Democrats need a net gain of four seats in the House to gain control.
