The Pentagon is reinvestigating if troops killed civilians in its 2019 Baghdadi raid
Briefly

The U.S. is conducting a new investigation into claims that Syrian civilians were killed and maimed in a U.S. strike during its high-profile raid targeting ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Several Democratic members of Congress also called on the Pentagon to reexamine the case following NPR's reporting, indicating the significance of challenging the original account.
It's extremely significant that, given how much the Baghdadi raid was celebrated, the Pentagon is now taking this step to do a new investigation, said Joanna Naples-Mitchell, a New York-based lawyer representing the Syrian survivor.
NPR reported accounts from Syria that U.S. helicopter fire killed two men and maimed a third, leading to the Pentagon's initial dismissal. The ongoing review aims to make a final determination regarding civilian casualties.
