The suspect, identified as 40-year-old unhoused resident Jaimie Mejia Lopez, sustained a minor thumb injury, was medically cleared and booked into jail. He faces suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a firearm on a peace officer. Multiple administrative and criminal investigations were opened; the Alameda County DA’s Office was notified.
