British tech magnate Mike Lynch and five others are missing after their luxury superyacht sank during a freak storm near Sicily, leaving his wife among 15 survivors.
A sudden fierce storm, including a waterspout, struck Porticello where the yacht was moored, resulting in significant damage and ultimately the sinking of the yacht.
Rescue efforts are ongoing, with police divers working to reach the sunken yacht which rests 50 meters deep, while weather conditions were expected to worsen.
Survivor Charlotte Golunski described a frantic moment when she lost grip of her daughter Sofia in the water but managed to lift her until rescue arrived.
