Rare comet to streak across night sky. Here's how you can see it
Briefly

C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, a nearly 2-mile-wide comet from the Oort Cloud, will make its close approach to Earth at 44 million miles, visible in October.
Starting October 12, the comet C/2023 A3 can be seen low on the western horizon about 45 minutes after sunset, appearing best through binoculars.
It's estimated that C/2023 A3 will fade around Halloween, and after October, will require a professional telescope to view for a short period.
C/2023 A3 is not expected to return for 80,000 years after its current close approach, making this viewing opportunity quite rare.
