Huhn originally committed to Penn State in June 2024 and decommitted on Oct. 16, four days after Penn State fired James Franklin. Huhn competed in the Elite 11 Finals and posted a senior season with 75% completion for 2,438 yards, 29 passing touchdowns and eight rushing scores at Mission Hills High School. Huhn took an official visit to Virginia Tech on Nov. 22 and drew late interest from Stanford. Huhn is the fifth former Penn State commit to join Virginia Tech under Franklin, and Virginia Tech is targeting additional Penn State-linked recruits including Davion Brown and Matt Sieg while also pursuing offensive tackle Thomas Wilder.
