Perdue Foods has voluntarily recalled over 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken products due to potential contamination with metal, discovered after consumer complaints.
Jeff Shaw, senior vice president of food safety and quality, stated that the contaminated material was a thin strand of metal wire accidentally introduced during manufacturing.
The FSIS has advised consumers to dispose of or return the recalled products, emphasizing that they should not be consumed.
This recall follows a similar incident where Tyson Foods recalled 30,000 pounds of chicken nuggets after consumers found metal pieces.
