On April 14, 2025, I was unjustly detained following my citizenship naturalization interview, faced with a trap set by the Department of Homeland Security. They apprehended me immediately after I agreed to take an oath of allegiance. Despite the hardships of 16 nights in jail, my fight for justice, supported by legal counsel and community activists, led to a federal judge ruling in my favor. This suggests a thrilling victory for democracy, highlighting the resilience of individuals opposing injustices, notably against government actions concerning free speech.
The Department of Homeland Security had effectively orchestrated a trap, dangling the prospect of citizenship only to apprehend me post-interview.
Despite spending 16 nights in a jail cell, I never lost hope in the inevitability of justice and the principles of democracy.
