
"A 36-year-old man was killed in an East Oakland shooting Wednesday night, authorities said. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was shot after getting into a dispute of some kind with another person. What the dispute was about has not been released. The shooting happened about 9:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of 28th Avenue, in a residential neighborhood between International Boulevard and Foothill Boulevard."
"The suspect is being sought. The killing is the 60th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time, police had investigated 76 homicides in the city. Police were also investigating another East Oakland shooting less than an hour earlier Wednesday that, according to initial reports, left two men wounded, one critically. That shooting happened about 8:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of 27th Avenue, a few blocks away from the homicide."
