
"OAKLAND - A 31-year-old man was shot multiple times in East Oakland Tuesday night after getting into a confrontation with another man, authorities said. The man was in critical but stable condition at a hospital on Wednesday. The shooting happened about 7:25 p.m. Tuesday outside in the 900 block of 87th Avenue, and the multiple shots fired prompted the activation of a gunshot detection alert system."
"According to initial police reports, the man was shot more than twice by another man he had gotten into some kind of confrontation with. Police were trying to confirm what the confrontation was about. The shooter fled on foot before police got to the scene. A detailed description of him was not released.
