Joshua Hubert, 43, was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 14 to 15 years for attempted murder and a concurrent 4 to 5 year term for strangulation, totaling at least 28 years. Hubert also received four years of probation to follow the prison sentences for a kidnapping conviction. Hubert was found guilty of attempted murder, strangulation, and kidnapping a child and was acquitted of two counts of child rape. Prosecutors say he kidnapped the girl on Aug. 27, 2017, strangled her, and threw her off a bridge over Lake Quinsigamond. The girl survived, swam to shore, and testified at trial. The trial began years after the attack and experienced multiple delays.
