Man dies after Oakland parking lot shooting
"A 33-year-old man was fatally shot in a North Oakland parking lot Thursday night, police said. The name of the man, believed to be a San Leandro resident, has not been released pending notification of his family. The shooting happened about 10:05 p.m. Thursday in a store parking lot in the 5900 block of Market Street. Police said the man got into an argument with another man that escalated and resulted in him being shot."
"He died later at a hospital. The gunman fled before police got to the lot. A detailed description of the suspect was not released. Investigators are trying to determine if the men knew each other, what the argument was about and why the victim was in Oakland. The killing is the 61st homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 77 homicides in the city."
