""I think the most expeditious way to get justice for these victims is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi,""
""Basically Ro Khanna and I are talking about and drafting that right now.""
""I believe we're going to get bipartisan support in holding her accountable,""
""The material that we released on Friday, or the material that we're going to release over the next a couple of weeks, is exactly what the statute requires us to release,""
Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie co-sponsored the Epstein Files Transparency Act to force release of Department of Justice documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Lawmakers say the DOJ missed a statutory deadline and released documents with excessive redactions and missing information. Massie is urging Congress to pursue inherent contempt against former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, which allows Congress to fine or arrest officers obstructing legislative functions. The Justice Department says its partial release complies with the statute and that hundreds of lawyers are reviewing remaining records to protect victims' information. Bipartisan dissatisfaction persists.
