Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's recent tour of a notorious prison in El Salvador was intended to demonstrate the U.S. government’s commitment to combating terrorism, particularly concerning gang members like those from Tren de Aragua and MS-13. During the visit, Noem emphasized the importance of transparency in government actions, showcasing the conditions in which these criminals, deemed domestic terrorists, are held. Her tour, while highlighting the dangers posed by these groups, drew attention with her choice of attire and accessories amidst the stark prison environment.
The only people allowed in that prison are terrorists. And to tour that and to look at that, was giving the American people the transparency that they want out of their government.
They need to see that the United States is going to use every tool that we have to make our communities safer, that that is a consequence of someone who is a terrorist.
They were able to see exactly where we sending these people who have murdered and raped Americans, that have decimated communities.
I asked El Salvador President Nayib Bukele if he would be willing to take more of these terrorists? And he said, 'Absolutely, we will. We will take the worst of the worst.'
