A recent confidential report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) disclosed that Iran has significantly boosted its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60%, nearing weapons-grade levels. This rise, amounting to 408.6 kilograms, marks a nearly 50% increase since February. The IAEA issued a warning concerning Iran's production of such materials, noting the potential for the nation to develop nuclear weapons. Concurrently, the U.S. government continues to discuss terms with Iran regarding its nuclear program amid troubling findings by the IAEA, highlighting concerns over Tehran's compliance with ongoing investigations.
The IAEA report raised a stern warning, saying that Iran is now the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce such material, which is of serious concern.
As of May 17, Iran has amassed 408.6 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 60%, an increase of almost 50% since the IAEA's last report.
