Immigrant rights groups ready to challenge President-elect Trump's policies
Briefly

"We've been preparing - we have the legal tools, we have the advocacy tools and, more importantly, we have people," stated Maribel Hernandez Rivera, emphasizing the readiness of immigrant-rights organizations to counter Trump's policies.
Murad Awawdeh, president of the New York Immigration Coalition, reflected on past experiences by saying, "the country already survived one Trump administration, and we believe that we are preparing ourselves to do it yet again."
Hernandez Rivera noted that this time they're better prepared, stating, "When Trump first got elected in 2016 there was a lot of uncertainty about his immigration plans... But because Trump has been so public about mass deportations, they have been able to start organizing."
Awawdeh highlighted their strategy, combining "protests, local legislation, and lawsuits," while reinforcing their awareness and readiness to confront Trump's 'racist deportation agenda' with their allies and members.
