Starting Saturday, Hong Kong will unveil thousands of giant panda sculptures in a major exhibition, symbolizing the city’s effort to revitalize tourism and engage the community.
The extensive display of 2,500 panda sculptures at PANDA GO! FEST HK, reflects Hong Kong’s strategy to leverage pandas, a cultural icon, to enhance its tourism sector.
Local officials and tourism representatives are hopeful that the introduction of pandas, particularly twins born in Ocean Park, will invigorate the city’s economy and attract visitors.
Prominent figures have contributed special panda designs for the exhibition, with proceeds from auctions benefiting panda conservation efforts, further intertwining art, culture, and wildlife protection.
