"Your friends including me are very concerned that your cognitive impairment has now reached a serious and potentially dangerous level. There is serious concern for your financail, emotional physical and psychological safety. Epstein wrote, using his typically idiosyncratic approach to spelling, punctuation and grammar."
"I am aware that your condition makes you prone to suspicion but that being said, the future predictable decline will be an ever increasing danger. Admittting you have a problem will take courage and determination."
According to Department of Justice files, late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein served as a confidant to Canadian-American media and real estate mogul Mortimer Zuckerman, now 88 years old. Following an October 2015 meeting with Zuckerman and Norwegian diplomat Terje Rod-Larsen, Epstein sent an email urging Zuckerman to relinquish control of his financial affairs through guardianship or conservatorship. Epstein expressed concern about Zuckerman's cognitive impairment, claiming it posed serious dangers to his financial, emotional, physical, and psychological safety. He recommended granting authority to Rod-Larsen, Zuckerman's nephews, and trusted associates to manage affairs. Epstein warned of predictable cognitive decline and encouraged Zuckerman to acknowledge the problem. Zuckerman, owner and publisher of US News & World Report and former owner of The Atlantic and New York Daily News, appeared to take the advice seriously.
