Driver, 29, dead in overnight Seekonk crash

At approximately 1:21 a.m. a 29-year-old man crashed on I-195 west in Seekonk. Seekonk police, EMS, and State Police responded to a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle crash. The driver, Joseph Gagliardi of Seekonk, struck several trees and entered a wooded median at a high rate of speed. First responders located Gagliardi in the grass median with significant injuries. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. The vehicle contained no other occupants. Emergency personnel secured the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Police said the driver, Joseph Gagliardi of Seekonk, struck several trees and crashed in a wooded median of the highway "at a high rate of speed."
