"The safety and well-being of the students we transport is always our top priority. Kevin P. Langlois, 58, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, was indicted on three counts of second-degree child molestation and one count of indecent solicitation of a child, along with charges of simple assault, indecent exposure, and disorderly conduct. The alleged victims are a 5-year-old and a 12-year-old, and the incidents are alleged to have occurred between Sept. 1, 2023, and June 13, 2025, while Langlois served as a bus monitor for Ocean State Transit transporting Barrington students. The investigation began in mid-June after the 5-year-old’s parents contacted police and the 12-year-old’s family came forward. Langlois was arraigned, a judge set bail at $10,000 and issued a no-contact order. Ocean State Transit fired Langlois, and the Barrington School Committee voted to permanently terminate him, hire a civil lawyer for an independent investigation, and bring in family counseling and mental health services for affected families.
