Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a 22-year-old graduate student from India studying chemical and biomolecular engineering at UC Berkeley, was found dead on February 14 in Lake Anza in Tilden Regional Park. He had been reported missing two days earlier and was last seen on February 10. Divers with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office recovered his body at about 2 pm. His roommate Baneet Singh described prior mental health struggles and urged others to check on loved ones, and is assisting with an emergency visa for Sreenivasaiah’s family. The Consulate General of India confirmed his identity and offered assistance, and the Contra Costa County coroner will determine the cause of death.
