Black and Latino Enrollment at M.I.T. Drops Significantly

The incoming class of 2028 at MIT saw a drop in Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander students to 16%, down from 25%, reflecting the impact of the Supreme Court's affirmative action ruling.

President Sally Kornbluth stated: 'What it does not bring, as a consequence of last year's Supreme Court decision, is the same degree of broad racial and ethnic diversity that the M.I.T. community has worked together to achieve over the past several decades.'
