Austin Tice's mother returns to Syria in search for son
Briefly

"We're turning a page in Syria," Tice told reporters in Damascus. "I think it's prudent for us to have very high hopes and to believe that we're going to be able to engage, and that they're going to want to help us reunite our families." Her optimism reflects her aim to work with the new government for her son’s whereabouts.
"One of the things we talked about with Mr. Sharaa was his own imprisonment. They know what we are going through. And as they do their important work, they are trying to make things right for people like us," Tice shared. This illustrates the shared understanding of suffering between families of missing persons and the new Syrian leadership.
