American Airlines plane, Black Hawk helicopter collide midair near D.C.-area airport
Briefly

A serious midair collision occurred between a Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jet and a Black Hawk helicopter while the jet was landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The incident involved 60 passengers, alongside crew members, and has raised fears of significant casualties. The Black Hawk had three soldiers onboard during the collision. Initial reports indicate the passenger jet may have fallen into the Potomac River, prompting a giant emergency response involving multiple agencies conducting search and rescue operations. This accident marks one of the most serious in U.S. airspace in years, reflecting the complexity of the surrounding airspace.
Our concern is for the passengers and crew on board the aircraft. We are in contact with authorities and assisting with emergency response efforts.
There are multiple partner agencies coordinating a search and rescue operation in the Potomac River.
