After election, racist texts nationwide threaten Black people with slavery
Briefly

Alyse McCall, a Black freshman attending the University of Alabama, received a racist text Wednesday morning as she was returning from class, her mother, Arleta, told The Post. Alyse, 18, called Arleta in tears. "She said, 'I received a message saying that I'm going to be picked up in a brown van and I'm going to be sent to the nearest plantation.'"
The FBI is aware of the offensive and racist text messages sent to individuals around the country and is in contact with the Justice Department and other federal authorities on the matter," the agency said in a statement Thursday.
The campaign has absolutely nothing to do with these text messages," Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, told The Washington Post.
The attorneys general of the D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Louisiana and Nevada said they received reports of residents getting the messages and condemned them.
