During a cherry blossom photoshoot at the Tidal Basin, former President Barack Obama inadvertently joined a family's picture-perfect moment. The children's excitement grew as they realized he had photobombed their frame. Photographer Briana Inell, who has over a decade of experience capturing the blossoms, was unaware of Obama’s entrance while strategically framing her shot. The delightful surprise quickly transformed the experience for the family, especially for preschooler Belle Thomas, who was amazed by the unexpected cameo from the former president.
The family was elated to have him as an interloper, the parents said. Belle, 4, exclaimed during the joyous aftermath, 'What! Barack Obama is in my picture?'.
I was trying to frame my picture, make sure that the Washington Monument is on the left and the blossoms are on the right, and the babies are in the center, Ms. Inell said.
In the moment, Ms. Inell, who has been taking photos during peak cherry blossom season for the last 10 years, did not even notice as Mr. Obama entered the frame.
