Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes stated that the death toll has tragically risen to five as a result of the shooting at the Abundant Life Christian School.
As officials continue to investigate the incident, they have confirmed that a child was among those involved in the shooting and that several others were injured.
Governor Tony Evers expressed his condolences, praying for the educators and entire community of Abundant Life Christian School as they await further information.
The Abundant Life Christian School, which serves around 390 students from kindergarten through high school, is currently on lockdown as law enforcement investigates.
