"SELDEN, NY - A 19-year-old was seriously wounded after being stabbed in a fight in the parking lot of a shopping center in Selden on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said. Richard Torres, 18, of Middle Island, stabbed the 19-year-old at around 11 p.m., and a friend drove him to an area hospital where he is in serious but stable condition, according to police."
"Torres sped away from the scene in a 2015 Nissan sedan, and a short time later, officers from the 6th Precinct found the car in Coram, initiated a traffic stop, and placed him in custody, police said, adding that he was charged with second-degree assault. He is being held overnight at the 6th Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First DistrictCourt in Central Islip on Thursday. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the 6th Squad at 631-854-8652."

Officers from the 6th Precinct found Torres' car in Coram, conducted a traffic stop and arrested him.
