In a recent NBC phone interview, President Trump controversially floated the idea of seeking a third presidential term, which would require a constitutional amendment. Trump asserted that many have urged him to run again, alluding to the 2020 election being 'rigged.' While he mentioned methods for attaining a third term, he refrained from specifying. Critics, including Congressman Goldman, expressed concerns over the implications for democracy, urging Republicans to oppose Trump. Meanwhile, supporters in his camp remain optimistic about his potential 2028 candidacy, despite the legal constraints on presidential terms.
There are methods which you can do it. I have had more people ask me to have a third term, which is a fourth term because the 2020 election was totally rigged.
This is yet another escalation in his clear effort to take over the government and dismantle our democracy. If Congressional Republicans believe in the Constitution, they will go on the record opposing Trump's third term.
