The FBI is treating the incident as an attempted assassination, noting that the suspect had a scoped AK47 rifle and a GoPro camera to record footage.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that the suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, appeared calm upon detention, and was arrested soon after the incident.
In a message to supporters, Trump reassured them of his safety, stating: 'There were gunshots in my vicinity... I AM SAFE AND WELL!'
Trump emphasized his determination to continue his activities despite the incident, asserting, 'Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!'
