Republicans omit national abortion ban from platform for first time in 40 years
Briefly

For the first time in 40 years, the Republican party has omitted a national abortion ban from its official party platform, opting instead to focus on the power of states to regulate abortion in a move that reflects Donald Trump's preferred position.
President Trump's 2024 Republican Party Platform articulates his vision to Make America Great Again in a way that is concise and digestible for every voter, Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a statement issued by the campaign.
The document includes many slogans that will be familiar to Trump supporters and is peppered with the former president's rally taglines. On oil production, for instance, the document says the president will drill baby drill.
The Republican policy document also pledged to ensure election integrity with new voting restrictions, end gender insanity and support for trans inclusion policies, stop woke government and protect free speech online.
