In a recent CNN interview, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was questioned about Democratic trust in light of President Biden's mental fitness, especially following a revealing book that noted Biden's inability to recognize celebrities during fundraisers. Despite the pressing nature of these concerns and the exchanges regarding Biden's leadership transition to Vice President Harris, Jeffries emphasized the need for the party to focus on current issues affecting Americans, such as healthcare and food assistance, instead of dwelling on the past.
I can't tell you what happened between George Clooney and President Biden that wasn't at that event. What I can say is that we're not looking back. We're gonna continue to look forward because at this moment, we've got real problems that need to be addressed on behalf of the American people.
In the conversations that I was able to have on behalf of the House Democratic Caucus in those final days, we simply expressed our perspective as to what would be best for the party at that given moment in time.
Just very quickly, I want to ask you, Congressman Jeffries, you know, you say we're not looking back, we're looking forward, but what happened in the past has to do with what's going to happen in the future and whether voters can trust Democrats.
