UK minister suggests government could leave Elon Musk's X
"He called for the overthrow of our government. He incited violence on our streets. His platform, X, promotes disinformation,"
"who want to take away people's rights, take away people's freedoms."
"a dangerous person."
Energy minister Ed Miliband suggested the UK government should consider leaving social media platform X. Miliband accused Elon Musk of being part of a far-right cabal that seeks to take away people’s rights and freedoms. Miliband said Musk called for the overthrow of the government, incited street violence, and that X promotes disinformation. Several MPs have independently left X. Musk appeared via video at a far-right rally organized by Tommy Robinson and has clashed with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. An Amnesty International investigation implicated X in promoting misinformation linked to racially charged violence in 2024.
