Metropolitan Police dropped a probe into Graham Linehan after a Crown Prosecution Service review determined no further action should be taken. A detective informed Linehan's lawyers that no charges would be brought, while noting the decision could be reconsidered if new evidence emerged. A Met spokesperson said the force would no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents. Westminster Magistrates Court ordered all bail conditions dropped after Free Speech Union lawyers applied; District Judge Snow ruled the conditions too vague and ordered them immediately lifted. Linehan and the Free Speech Union vowed to sue the Metropolitan Police for wrongful arrest and interference with free speech.
