PM says 'nobody is above the law' over Andrew allegations
"I think that's a matter for the police. They will conduct their own investigations, but one of the core principles in our system is that everybody is equal under the law and nobody is above the law. It's a very important principle of our country... and it has to apply in this case in the same way it would in any other case."
"nobody is above the law"
"wouldn't stand in the way"
The principle that nobody is above the law must apply equally in this case. Police are considering allegations that a woman was trafficked to the UK by Jeffrey Epstein for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The alleged encounter reportedly occurred at Royal Lodge in 2010; the woman, not British, was in her 20s. The woman's lawyer, Brad Edwards, says she alleges she spent the night with Andrew and was later given tea and a tour of Buckingham Palace. Millions of files released by the US Department of Justice contained images and documents referencing Andrew, including photographs showing him kneeling on all fours over a woman. Andrew has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing. Parliament may hold a debate on Andrew's links to Epstein if MPs choose to do so.
