During Prime Minister's Questions, Sir Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of allowing Palestinians to return home and rebuild after the conflict. He responded to Trump’s controversial proposal for a US takeover of Gaza by reiterating support for a two-state solution. Starmer affirmed that ensuring a ceasefire and the release of hostages was crucial, while others, like Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey, shared concerns over Trump's statement. Foreign Secretary David Lammy reinforced the need for peaceful cohabitation and prosperity for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
They must be allowed home, they must be allowed to rebuild, and we should be with them in that rebuild on the way to that two-state solution.
We've always been clear in our belief that we must see two states. We must see Palestinians able to live and prosper in their homelands in Gaza, in the West Bank.
