Tube drivers are important for keeping London running smoothly. Bus drivers earn about half what tube drivers earn when working hours and holiday entitlements are taken into account. Questions arise whether driving a tube train is really twice as difficult as driving a bus. London bus drivers carry a million more passengers a day than tube drivers. Boris Johnson was paid 5m from 34 paid appearances, averaging 147,000 per speech, prompting comments about lucrative speaking fees. Liz Truss's public duty costs allowance claim is questioned. Letting other drivers in tends to prompt reciprocal courtesy. Banksy's depiction is defended as artistic licence.
