The process is considered unfit for purpose, especially when comparing the complicated procedures for families from the Middle East and Sudan to the streamlined process for Ukrainians.
From May 2023 to February 2024, only 15 cases were authorized for predetermination while 114 deferral requests were made, highlighting bureaucratic inefficiency.
