Health Secretary Wes Streeting has firmly stated that campaigning for Lucy Letby's innocence is not justified. Letby was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempted murders of others, currently serving 15 life sentences. Despite the emergence of an expert panel's doubts about the medical basis for her conviction, Streeting maintains support for the judicial process and advises that campaigners respect the grieving parents of the victims and seek legal avenues rather than public protest.
Lucy Letby is convicted of the crimes she was accused of... I still think that waging a campaign in this way... is not the right thing to do.
There is a judicial process to follow... If you believe there was an unsafe conviction, pursue legal routes... not a political campaign.
