David TC Davies, a former cabinet minister, claims that AI recruitment tools have led to his rejection for jobs due to his lack of a degree. He highlights the risk of these automated systems filtering out qualified candidates without human oversight. Despite having a diverse background, including working in politics and business, he struggles with applications that don't account for non-traditional career paths. The government's guidelines on AI in hiring emphasize the potential for discrimination and bias against applicants based on automated processing.
