UK's top civil servant Simon Case announces resignation
Briefly

Cabinet Secretary Simon Case announced he will resign due to health issues, affirming this decision is unrelated to recent leaks or controversies surrounding his role.
In his letter, Case stated: 'As many of you know, I have been undergoing medical treatment for a neurological condition over the last 18 months and, whilst the spirit remains willing, the body is not.' He emphasized that his resignation was solely due to health concerns.
Reflecting on his tenure, Case remarked: 'It has been an honour to serve two sovereigns, four Prime Ministers and over 120 Cabinet Ministers in this role,' highlighting the positives of his experience despite its challenges.
Case shared sentiments about his experience in public service, writing: 'There have been far more ups than downs along the way and by far the greatest highlight has been the privilege of working with so many remarkable public servants.'
While announcing his departure, Case reiterated that his resignation is strictly health-related, asserting: 'It is a shame that I feel I have to spell this out, but my decision is solely to do with my health.'
